Parking is free at Surprise Stadium and you'll find tailgaters set up in the parking lot before the game starts. If you want to sit by your favorite team, the Rangers' dugout is along first base and the Royals' is along third base. The stadium is situated inside a larger sports complex that both teams use to practice before games, so get there early to spot your favorite players warming up. Here is where fans can see the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers play throughout the Spring Training season. On the outskirts of the Greater Phoenix Area in the fun-named suburb of Surprise is the Surprise Stadium, located in the northwest corner of the metropolitan region and about 35 minutes from Downtown Phoenix without traffic. From downtown Phoenix or the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, it's about a 25-minute drive and there's free parking available at Camelback Ranch. Despite being known as Glendale Stadium, it's technically located in the city of Phoenix right on the border with Glendale. The stadium is located in the West Valley and close to Westgate Entertainment District, University of Phoenix Stadium, and the Gila River Arena. If you're looking for comfort, all of the stadium seats have backs at Camelback Ranch, unlike some other venues which only use bench seats. The lawn seating covers the entire outfield and despite being farther from the infield action, it's a fun experience to bring a blanket and have a picnic with friends while watching the game. With a seating capacity of over 10,000 spectators in the stands and another 3,000 in the grass, it's one of the largest of the Spring Train stadiums in Arizona. Look for "Autograph Rows" or similarly named areas when you visit your stadium for a chance to see your favorite players up close.Ĭamelback Ranch in Glendale is the Spring Training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox.
